Makes a Splash in Physical Therapy |
It's physical therapy like you’ve probably
never seen or experienced before. Underwater “aquacising”
is helping eastern Iowans heal… and they’re
having fun in the process.
Our AquaCiser is a unique form of water therapy.
It gives people of all ages the ability to regain
mobility and strength without the painful compression
on their joints that they would experience by exercising
on dry land.
By minimizing weight-bearing factors, we can exercise
people on this underwater treadmill system in ways
that we would never be able to on a hard surface.
As they improve, they can then transition to dry
land exercise or walking with much less pain and
improved strength. The
human body, as a percentage of body weight, is mostly
water. When we are immersed in water we gain the
following benefits: ·
Increased range of motion ·
Ease of movement · Improved
circulation and breathing ·
Decreased edema and swelling ·
Decreased pain and stiffness ·
Improved balance and coordination ·
Increased endurance
Our AquaCiser allows for very easy entrance for
people of all shapes and sizes. It is private and
is extremely safe and comfortable, even for those
that do not swim or have a fear of water. Our staff
supervises all sessions, and a dressing room and
shower are available for your use.
If you suffer from hip or low back pain, degenerative
joint disease, obesity, lower extremity weakness,
have problems walking, or an inability to tolerate
normal exercise, our AquaCiser may help. If you
think this type of exercise might be helpful for
you, give us a call. Our AquaCiser is used in the
course of prescribed therapy treatments, or is available
to the public in 30-minute sessions for $10, or
you can buy a punch card that gives you six sessions
for the price of five.
Come and see how unique exercise and the power of
water can help to treat difficult orthopedic and
neurological conditions. |
