| What is a Physical Therapist? |
|
A physical therapist is a highly skilled, rehabilitation
specialist and licensed health care provider who
can evaluate and treat musculo-skeletal and neuromuscular
conditions.
Physical therapists have extensive education and
training in various types of “hands on” evaluation
and treatment techniques. All licensed physical
therapists currently graduate from accredited physical
therapy programs with either a Masters or Doctorate
level degree. Clinical education includes background
in human anatomy and physiology, pathology, kinesiology
and all types of exercise. All physical therapists
must seek ongoing continuing education to keep abreast
of the latest information, research and treatment
techniques. |

| Agape Physical Therapy |
|
Agape Therapy considers itself representative
of the very best that can be offered by physical
therapists today. We are proficient patient managers,
experienced and skillful clinicians and teachers.
Having stood the test of time and trial in the delivery
of orthopedic and rehabilitation physical therapy,
our treatment, education, opinions and assessments
are sought by many in the healthcare system.
Agape Therapy is committed to providing physical
therapists that have training in manual therapy
& orthopedic evaluation and treatment techniques.
We believe that our therapists can provide you with
excellent differential diagnosis of neuromuscular
and musculoskeletal conditions. Physical therapists
are the professional experts in restoring and maintaining
joint mobility and providing specific exercise prescription
for tissue healing following injury, surgery and/or
for prevention. All our physical therapists hold
post-graduate degrees or certificates and have additional
manual therapy training.
We also offer under water aquacising. Our AquaCiser is a unique form of water therapy. It gives people of all ages the ability to regain mobility and strength without the painful compression on their joints that they would experience by exercising on dry land. Read more... |

| Treatment by Licensed
Professionals |
|
Our approach keeps at the forefront hands-on manual
therapy expertise. Individualized biomechanical
evaluation by the licensed physical therapist is
followed by the implementation of individually-tailored
treatment. Treatment is directly and consistently
performed by the physical therapist. Joint mobilization,
soft tissue mobilization, peripheral neuromuscular
facilitation, and manual muscle stretching comprise
a few of our manual treatment methods.
We emphasize non-generic and specifically applied
exercise as perhaps our most important tool, recognizing
that our patient's independence is the ultimate
goal and objective. Through the creative use of
gravity, exercise equipment, unstable surfaces such
as therapeutic gym balls, aquatic therapy and a
variety of aerobic training equipment, unlimited
and unique applications for specific functional
needs are possible. Trunk stabilization training,
movement re-education and mechanics management and
awareness are taught through these exercises. |
|
| |
|
| Patient Education |
|
| A cornerstone of our philosophy is the belief
that people's needs are best served through giving
them the tools and responsibility for their own
recovery and management. We underscore the importance
of patient education, position and postural mechanics
and awareness, self-treatment, exercise and prevention
as vital complements to manual treatment. |
